“If someone says, ‘’I love God” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” 1 John 4: 20
It comes to us as a chock when a man loves his wife but despises his parents, his brothers and sisters. We are equally disturbed that a woman can love her husband’s money and riches but displays hatred to him as human being. In the same way, God is deeply disappointed when we claim to love him but hate other people he specially created in his own likeness, in his own image. In a nutshell, that is the perfect and striking example of hypocrisy.
This world is full of people who claim to love God. It is likely that they hold worshiping meetings in their houses, attend church meetings, sing in the choir, have prestigious responsibilities inside the church, pay their tithes and their offering, contribute financially to many of the church’s projects and even show generosity for activities in their communities.
And yet, they are filled with hatred toward children of this same God they claim to love and serve. God’s love is contrary to all forms of racial segregation, tribalism, casts and there is much to say with regard to family and work places, etc. God makes no difference with regards to nationalities, race or social position because he created the whole world. By being created by God, all human being are part of the same family and thus united by redemption.
Jesus Christ came to tear down walls of separation. He opened different compartments of the temple so each and all can freely get access to God. So vast, comprehensive and deep is his love that it invests everywhere. He snatches from Satan’s empire poor souls deceived by delusions to translate them into God’s presence.
Let’s take note of this: If you hate your husband or your wife; If you hate anyone that is not from your race, nation or tribe; If you despise a rich or poor person; if you hate your child, your father or your mother; if you hate your teacher or student; if you hate your boss or supervisee; whoever it is that you hate, you are simply just showing you hate God.
May God help us! Wishing you a pleasant workweek
